Digital signage for car dealerships and workshops

Manufacturer spots in the showroom, used vehicles in rotation, workshop wait tracking. A storefront that keeps working while the salesperson is with a customer.

The showroom: filling waiting time

In a dealership, customers often wait: for the salesperson to be free, for a test drive to be set up, for a financing file to print. That time is currently wasted, or spent on a phone. It's the most valuable screen location in the building.

The content that works alternates three registers: manufacturer spots, which you already receive and which are made to be watched without sound; available used vehicles, with price, mileage and year; and your own services — financing, trade-in, servicing, warranty — which customers know little about even though they're where your margin lives.

The workshop: inform rather than fill time

A workshop's customer area is a different case: the wait is longer, unwanted, and often poorly received. A screen doesn't shorten it, but it changes how it's perceived — as long as it says something useful.

What works: service package pricing, seasonal safety reminders (winter tyres, air conditioning, brake checks), and quoted delays. The remote control widget lets a workshop manager switch the screen to a specific message without going through the platform, from their own desk.

Several dealerships: central and local

A group of several dealerships always faces the same trade-off: head office wants to guarantee manufacturer campaign compliance, each site wants to show its own used vehicles and local promotions. Both are legitimate.

Screens are grouped by tags — by brand, by site, by location — and a campaign can be assigned to a whole group. Broadcast tracking lets you check that the manufacturer campaign is genuinely running everywhere, which is often a contractual obligation toward the brand.

The same mechanism serves local operations: open days, end-of-quarter clearance, a new model's arrival. They're scheduled in advance with their dates, start on their own and stop on their own — a point that matters more than it seems, because a poster left up after a promotion has ended is the most visible sign of a poorly maintained display.

Hardware: a glazed showroom, strong light

A car showroom is almost always heavily glazed, often on two sides. That's great for displaying vehicles, much less so for a screen: a consumer TV, around 300 to 400 cd/m², washes out as soon as it's caught in daylight. Plan for a professional, high-brightness screen, and above all avoid placing it facing a bay window — glare is more of a problem than a lack of brightness.

As for hours, a showroom open from 8am to 7pm runs the screen eleven hours a day, six days a week: beyond the home use covered by a TV's warranty. The schedule can turn the display off at closing time, limiting wear and power use.

Questions fréquentes

Can manufacturer video spots be shown?

Yes: videos supplied by the brand are imported like any other media and slot into a playlist. These spots are designed to be understood without sound, which suits a showroom well.

How do I guarantee a manufacturer campaign is running everywhere?

By grouping screens with tags and assigning the campaign to the whole group, then checking playback from the dashboard: it shows which screens are online and what each one is actually displaying.

Can the workshop manager change the screen quickly?

Yes, via the remote control widget, which switches a screen to a specific message without building a playlist first.

How many screens for a dealership?

Three to five depending on size: showroom, workshop customer area, reception, sometimes the storefront. Three screens are free with the Free plan, with the features of the Premium plan — a "Powered by Smart-Signage" badge appears after 30 days. Beyond that, count on €9 excl. VAT per screen per month, or €99 excl. VAT per year, with no commitment. Room tablets, remote controls and e-paper labels fall under the Lite licence at €5 excl. VAT per device per month. From 50 devices of the same type, a discount becomes negotiable.
